PT Free freezes on launch

Just installed pt free, the launch window loads the plug ins, then DAE, then just freezes. It's on an imac DV400. I'm fairly sure it's simple but getting frustrated at not being able to work it out. I have another identical imac and it works fine! Any ideas as to what I should check or look for would be gratefully received. Cheers.

search under "freeze" - there was an earlier freeze issue (5.0.1?) - one solution was to wait through the freeze (45 min?) until the next screen comes up. but this might be a different issue.

It could also be an extension conflict. Did you make a "bare-bones" set for PTF? You do have virtual memory disabled, right?
