I want to transfer songs from one computer in the studio to my other computer at home. Both have Reaper on them. I tried copying the .RPP files along with the audio files .WAV of a particular song and transfer to second computer. It says that several files are missing and they look like the file that is saved for each track. Example: "Guitar Lead track one" missing. I've tried several things but no success. Any help would be appreciated.

In the dialog box that comes up after you click 'save project as', there are tickboxes to copy or move the relevant files, try that.

I'll let you know when I get a chance to try that out. It almost sounds like creating a subdirectory and then dragging files to. I have tried copying the project file with a .wav file and it still is missing files. Does it need those individual track files also? On another subject, is it possible to use Reapers effects and record say with your guitar and have that record in realtime. I know you can add effects after you record. Thanks, Chris

Yes it will copy all relevant files to the folder where you save the project file. And yes, you can record FX on input: There's a button called 'Input FX' on the track, next to the track name, load the VST effects there. Then right-click the red track arm button and make sure "Monitor Input" + "Record: input (audio or MIDI)" + "Track input FX chain" is checked. But I still recommend you load the FX as normal and just monitor the input (right-click the red button on the track and set in the menu there) as you then have the luxury of changing the FX later.

I'll give that a try next time I get down there. It sounds like that will work. I'll get back to you. Chris

I tried what you said with the FX being monitored and it worked great for our vocals. It was fun messing with all the different effects. Thanks for your help.
