I saw this too. Now I have nothing against the tool in itself, and it certainly can be put to good use (quick backups for most often watched DVDs, integration into more complex processes, ...). All my respect to the guys who wrote the piece of software since it is fast, light, easy to use and really well thought. But I wouldn't like to see too many posts about how easy it is to "rent and copy" movies with this, disseminated all over the forums, like the one I saw the other day (which was, according to me, violating rules here). This is likely to attract the attention of some "MPAA-like authority" and may have desastrous effects on this forum, where most experimented members are in fact not really interested in copying, but rather in learning and mastering the difficult DVD authoring process. That's why I think putting all DV2one related threads into one single forum will help to sort out good from bad, and will also allow DVDD2one fans to find their information more easily. As for examining how DVD2One performs transcoding, this would be extremely interesting, but I severely doubt you'll get the sources ;) and not even theoretical explanations from the creators (after all the stuff is not for free).
