I'm probably missing something obvious, but is there a way to quickly render a single item in a project? I've got about ten different takes set up in the same track, and would like to render each one individually. Right now I'm doing a time selection of each one and then rendering that selection, but it's a bit time-consuming that way. Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for the reply! Does that also render the output of any plugins that I have applied?

Jamester, I think the question is about rendering to an external file, as opposed to rendering to a new take within the project. I've never really found a quick and easy way to do this, which is frustrating. I think you could get close using actions - you can ceratinly set the selection to the current item borders - but I'm not sure how you'd go from there to render an individual item.

This will actually produce a seperate rendered file, wherever reaper is set to put it for the project. ;) Alternately, you could Ctrl+Alt+Drag into whatever folder you would like (including the Desktop).

Ctrl+Alt+Drag copies the item contents, but doesn't apply track FX. So it's still a few manual steps once you render as new take then drag them out. An example of a nice way to do it (and pretty much the only good thing I'll say about the platform) is on SADiE. In the bounce dialog, there's an option to render all selected items to appropriately named output files in a location of your choosing. So if you've got a session full of samples that you've cut up and trimmed, you can just select them all, select an output folder, and get a bunch of individual files.
