.970 Hangs At Startup

Try running it from the start menu with the "reset configuration to default" and see if that helps/fixes/etc.

Just tried it on a system with a craptacular motherboard sound chip and it locks up when trying to add a file from Media Explorer. The "Building Peaks" window pops up, the progress bar goes all the way to the right, then REAPER hangs. Also tried ReaSynth using the internal MIDI Editor. All worked fine until I tried to render a short clip. The Render seemed to go OK but REAPER reported an error when trying to open the Rendered file, and then locked up. Had to use Task Manager to kill reaper.exe each time.

It was the Wings demo project that causes the problem. If I uninstall, wipe out the Reaper directory, and reinstall it will start up okay. As soon as I try to load Wings, it hangs. Cheers, Randy

Hmm if you guys uncheck prefs/audio "high priority worker threads" does that help anything? -Justin

I have Windows XP Home and the high priority threads unchecked did not help, but it sounds like you already found the problem. Cheers, Randy
