Multiple 001s or 002s

Is there a way to run TWO 001s or 002 and 001 simultaneously?

Yes, if they are on two seperate computers. Read the manual sections on MMC and MTC.

which manual? i didnt see anything about MMC or MTC in the 001 quick start guide?

The Pro Tools Reference Guide. The guick start guide is hardly a manual.

Ok, i got the guide.. but still cant find any info. can you maybe tell me what chapter or what page its on? I found stuff about MMC... but it basically gives info for connecting an ADAT or Sequencer. Thanks.

Set both machines to send and receive midi and hook up the midi going back and forth; also make a digital connection and slave the internal clock of one off the other. It's really that simple. It's the same idea as slaving an adat or a roland VS or a MTR, except that the second device is another PT system.

Will this still allow for say.. 32 INPUTS? Thats what I am trying to get... is more that 20 inputs for the 001 simultaneously. I have a dual processor.. there should be a trick where i can set one processor to use one unit, and the other to use the other, that would be rad. thanks alot for the help!

Nope, can't do that. As I said in my first post, they must be located on seperate machines, i.e: two seperate and independent setups. Then you can use a digital cable to submix back to one of the units. Setting up one system to slave off the other and be controlled by the other will then give you 34 inputs (assuming you use only two channels for submixing)
