CONFUSION ABOUT FINAL RECORDING

You need to bouce to 44.1k, whihc is the sample rate of standard cd's. if you're getting distortion when you bounce to disc, you're overloading the master buss. Lower your track levels before bouncing, put a limiter on the master buss, and keep those levels down. Once you bounce to disc, simply burn from your comuters burner using Nero or other CD burning software, at no more than 4x burn speed, and I recommend 1x. the result will not be as loud as a commerical CD because it is not mastered, and while you can achieve some decent mastering results in protools, it does not equate to what a professional mastering engineer and facility can do. Thanks a lot guys! Yes, I do have the platinum bundle Allen. I've been fiddling around with the various plug-ins, but I have not tried any sort of method like you're talking about. However, I have recorded directly to a cd recorder and it was recorded on pro tools at 24, which is a little strange because the quality of the sound in recording directly to the cd recorder (via optical) didn't seem to be affected, though I haven't any other methods just yet. Perhaps the cd recorder automatically records it at 16 bit? ( There is also a volume knob on the cd recorder.)

Allen, I don't have the L2 ultramaximizer on my plugin list, but I do have the L1--is there a reason for this? Kyle
