What you mean is there are no flashers and horn sounding when the alarm as been triggered ?, if this car is fitted with the original factory alarm then it as most likely been bypassed . This was ( MOST) probably done because of a fault in the relay for the alarm or the relay for the locking system , which as been causing unwanted alarms , the alarm relay as probably been removed and the starter circuit bridged with a jump wire . These relays are located above the pedal assembly and are 210-211 ALARM - and 205-206 LOCKING , Mister T.

actually, the alarm units can be programmed by the dealers to flash the indicators and/or sound the horn or both. They take the relay out and plug it into a board they should have

TheG, The programming you speak of is for alarm setting acknowledgment , signals flash and horns toot momentarily when alarm is set , it would`nt make sense to have a silent alarm , I am assuming jasmith44 means that they do not work when the alarm is set off . Mister T.

Jasmith44, It was as I mentioned possibly because of unwanted alarm triggering , our early cars here in the US were supplied with a jump relay , in the event a car had an alarm problem the starter would be inhibited so it would not crank over , the jump relay was installed in place of the alarm relay so that the engine could be started , and the alarm serviced at a later date . However without this jump relay the starter circuit can be bridged with a paper clip or jump wire , this is were you should look , see the attachment I included for the location and relay number and see if the alarm relay is missing . Am I correct in my assumption that you say the signals and horn do not work when the alarm is (triggered to go off) ?. Mister T .
