I'm using a 2005 Mac Mini and was wondering if there was any way to bounce a session from Pro Tools to the desktop or a cd (preferably desktop) without having to spend money on an external hardrive? Would changing the buffer or some other options help? Thx

You really shouldn't be recording audio to your system drive anyway. At the price of an external FW drive, you can't go wrong! Just get something that's 7200RPM... preferably Seagate Barracuda or equiv.

Are you unable to do it the moment? I routinely bounce to my desktop, but am using a G5. But even on my iBook G4, using an MBox, I routinely bounces to the desktop. I don't see any reason why it won't work, unless your session is so large and complex it can't keep up reading from the same drive it's recording to. But try it. If it works, it works. If not, then consider an external drive. But as long as PT sees the drive as recordable, it should work.
