It is SOOOO Easy.....Right click in an empty area in the Track Control Pannel and choose Insert Virtual Instrument on New Track. Pick Toontrack DFH from the list. Now you will see a dialog box telling you that Reaper will build your tracks with routing automatically. Press okay and PRESTO..... Or go here and scroll down the list looking for EZD Track Templates. There are several. Regardless of your method it is handy that once you set up panning, volumes, fx and so forth on each track, then highlight the all the tracks, and choose save as template. Now the next time you want to add drums, you can right click and choose "Insert Tracks From Template" and all of your settings are ready to go, including drum maps, and kits.

Thanks Holy_reality. Your friend did well in recommending Reaper. It's really a good piece of software, the forum is awesome and the developers are listening to the users. I'm doing lots of different things with Reaper, so I sometimes (a way to politely say "often") forget how things can be simplified, because there's not much routine in what I do. As I started to use Reaper, there were no things like "Virtual Instruments" so you had to set up routings and stuff by yourself. -Data

Holy, really glad I could help and welcome to Reaper. Mr. Data, not to worry. There is so much in Reaper and the pace of development is amazing that it is totally easy to miss stuff. I confess I didn't even know the "Insert Instrument" trick until I read it on the forum somewhere. I use the save/insert tracks as Templates all the time as I have several of the expansion packs for EZD so I have pre-configured templates for each just the way I like them. All the best Woody
