Hi !! Thanks for your advice. I'll check these program soon. :D But, one more question: Do you know other program that can convert AVI, but which uses "CCE SP 2" for encoding a compliant dvd as out-put? I've heard that CCE can produce very high quality videos if we know how to deal with the program. I could find FAVC program too. But I get confused about how to use QuEnc and HC encoders in that program. 1) QuEnc and HC: do you point me one of them for nice quality out put videos? 2) Choosen one of them, how to set the parameters to obtain the best of which each encoder could offer? Thanks again.

All programs which I am aware of use ffmpeg as encoding engine, like Avidemux (free) or SVCD2DVD for example. @johner23: If you want to use CCE ($$) or HCenc (free, very good) you have to resize and frameserve with avisynth, and then author the resulting .m2v or .mpg with some authoring tool. You may want to use FitCD (free) or Fit2Disc (Donation) for generating the avisynth script. This tool is very handy for the resizing btw. If you want to take the easy route you may try SVCD2DVD ($). It does everything very automated (resizing, re-encoding if needed), including the DVD authoring.
