Is there an option to have an effect enabled while mixing but become automatically disabled while rendering/freezing ? I usually have to mix in headphones and would like to insert a headphone compensation plugin (like Brebaart's for example) in the main outs while mixing and not have to remember to disable the plugin before rendering.

You could try out creating a new Custom Action (something like this), after installing sws' Extension: I don't think that you can do it for a single FX. Perhaps route you mix signal to a separate track and put the FX there then toute it to different HW outs?

Thanks, I wasn't even aware of the extensions available. Will give that a go.

"don't think that you can do it for a single FX" You should be able to do it with ReaScript...

Maybe you can combine one of this with 'Select master track'.
