Mackie HUi and Reaper 4.76

Hi people how are you doing!!! I'm new here and a new and proud user of Reaper. I can't be happier using this DAW in my studio, thank you thank you thank!!! To expand a little the studio I just found a used but top mint condition MACKIE HUI and it seems to be a very interesting system. I just want to know if it's still compatible under Reaper latest version (4,76) and how should I connect the device if so. Again thank you so much for this really constructive DAW, I'm a reaper user and a fan!

HUI and Reaper 

I am also new to Reaper and to this forum....and I too am interfacing an old HUI. Under Options/preferences/control surfaces you can find HUI in the drop down. It indicates the functionality will be limited. For me it took some wrangling but I got some stuff to work. HUI faders will drive Reaper faders, and transport buttons work. Oddly when I first hooked up the Mackie the computer was XP and faders controlled in both directions. I am not a MIDI geek but there are threads on here that go way deep into the actual protocol and translation etc. If that's your thing. I won't be any help on the advanced stuff but I might be able to help with the initial setup.
