Nero Showtime no picture?

I don't know why, but I've never gotten picture from the videos while using it. I get sound and everything, but no picture. Oh yeah, I once downloaded some *.mp4 movie that somebody here encoded and made it available for download, that one worked (very b0rked though), but that's it. Beyond that the screen is ALWAYS completely black. Why? Shouldn't the player be able to play from the get-go without changing the settings? I've never even gotten the picture to work with different video settings.

Have you tried to reinstall NVE ? Probably smth got messed up with Nero splitters\decoders..

What's your videocard and drivers for it ? Does it support overlay ? If so, is the overlay setup OK ?

This card is so ancient, I doubt it knows what the overlay is. I looked through the Showtime and didn't find the way to switch it off. Seems like it is unchangeable default. I'd be fully sure if JohnV or someone else from Nero team would confirm this.
