I'm using the dead ringer layout for my mixing tracks in Imperial. However, whenever I load a project or create a new one the dead ringer layout creates tracks that are disproportional. The tracks have a huge amount of space dedicated to FX and sends and the faders are really small. I can resize the tracks how I want but the problem is they don't stay that way as a default. Loading a new project resets to the goofy size. Look at the following picture. I resized the first two tracks how I want them, and the other ones are the default size for the layout. Is there a way to change the default size so they always load with these proportions?
Set your track size to where you want it, then set the preferences to 'use current' size. (See: Preferences, then Project, then Track/send defaults).
Hmmm... it doesn't seem to work. It just resets to medium. Changing it to small or large seems to change nothing either. Not even in the TCP... ??? Can you confirm it works for you in the MCP?

Yes, he knows how to change them once they are loaded. What he (and I) is interested in is saving the height after changing so that when loading new tracks they load as a larger size by default.

If that didn't work... Open a new project, add a track or two, set the height where you want them. Go to Project Settings and click the "use as default" button. Did that do it?

Hit ctrl-E to see the menu. F7-F10 can be set up for screensets. You can have more but you have to set up the shortcuts for yourself. Now that I just brought up that window I see a layout tab with a way to edit layouts. Might this be how we can edit dead ringer to be a different size? Only on my laptop at the moment so can't try it with Imperial....
you can use SWS: 1. Install SWS Extension 2. make all changes that you want to the track. 3. save that track az track template. 4. go to extensions menu, select resources (select track template from the drop down menu). 5. right click on slot 01 (if the list is empty create a slot first) and select load slot/file... 6. browse to your previously saved track template, and load that(close this window). 7. go to actions, and create a shortcut for SWS/S&M: Import tracks from track templates, slot 01 from now, every time you press that shortcut, a new track with the same settings will be created... if you want to change settings, you just need to resave the template...
