computer crashes when logging on to protools

i just downloaded the new windows xp service pack 2, and ever since then my protools crashes on startup. it actually shuts down my whole computer. a blue screen pops up and tells me to restart. i just realized that the digidesign website says not to download service pack 2 for windows xp, but i already did. how do i get it off? or how do i get this problem solved? please help.

How many people are going to report SP2 disaster before others stop loading it?

I loaded sp2 and it works great.... uh that is except for pt. LOL. Ill wait for the update and play the piano in the meantime. btw: avid folks are up a creek on this one as well. rots of ruck.
