I'm encoding my movies with CCE using avisynth. I encode for 16:9 widescreen. I compile in maestro for 16:9 The movie plays in this format on the pc with PowerDVD but when I play it on my stand alone dvd player it is not widescreeen format. I don't change any settings on my dvd player. Why is this?

Do you have a 4:3 TV, and does it appear "Squished"? If so, you have to tell your DVD player that you have a 4:3 TV instead of a 16:9 one. It will then add black bars to the movie when you play it.
