I'm a full time audio dubbing mixer, and music engineer in my spare time. I come from a background of Pro Tools, but really interested to see how Reaper will develop as a software sequencer. Has anybody in both music or post migrated from their Pro Tools rigs to Reaper? Did it take long to get used to the editing controls? Is it worth sticking out the learning period? What are the advantages? Long winded questions Im sure, but I decided to buy the Reaper license over the PT8 upgrade... So really want to give this package a go.. Cheers

I myself haven't had the privilege to work with Pro Tools, but there are plenty of former and current Pro Tools users here. You might have to wait for some of the regs to get off work later in the afternoon for a proper response. Until then, one of the few things I can think of that some PT users miss is the smart tool, which has become a popular feature request here. As of yet, I'm not sure if the new Reaper pre-release (2.99) has addressed the request. As for what strengths Reaper has, this next thread might be useful. It illustrates a lot of reasons why people switched over from their previous DAW to Reaper: That said, welcome to the Reaper community!
