Not sure if you took care of the low end problem you were talking about yet. The only problem I hear is the section where the distorted vocal comes in. I'd pull all bass out of the vocal. It is bottomy when the song gets busy but it sounds good in my headphones. Great composition dude. It brings "Frankenstein" to mind in some parts and "Starsky and Hutch" in other parts LOL. SW

Frak. Music stops when you hit reply... Groovy, arty stuff. Sounds very good on headphones. Nice mellow dist. Cantabile, almost.

This is great and I love the wah bass . . . . . . when it is doubling the guitar . . . . . . but when it goes off to do its own James Jamerson/Jaco thing, if it were me, IMHO, YMMV, I would turn the wah off and let that motherfunker sing out! I agree that the snare could crack some more. But, more important than all of that, it grooves, most profoundly.

I really like your music and your ideas shemp. It’s an area of music I’m into; a sort of bluesy, jazzy, funk rock style. For about two weeks, I’ve kept coming back and listening to this one, composing a post then deleting it because I’m not sure how to phrase it. Anyway (possibly stupidly) I’m going to say what’s on my mind, but you and Sheppola are probably going to chew my ears off :(. From my very limited experience of playing with the demo and tracks I’ve heard on the forum, Jamstix seems to have a fairly laid-back style (if drum VSTi’s can have a style). This can be a good thing, but on this particular track I’d like to hear the drums sounding more aggressive and snappy. I use Addictive Drums and, with that, I have the almost opposite problem that it sometimes sounds too aggressive. So, despite the fact I paid loads of money for AD, for some stuff I’m now starting to play around with samplers and drum samples to use as alternatives, thanks to Tedwood’s thread at the link below. I could be wrong and maybe there are these sounds available from Jamstix. But it’s just a thought that it might be worth trying alternative options for this particular track; ‘horses for courses’ and all that. Also, it might be just a matter of personal taste. btw. I liked your Seraphina track, where Jamstix fitted really well. Pete

or maybe even simpler, just play the snare midi through AD demo and see how that goes.

I agree with some of what has been said. There are genres where some of the drum sounds in JS or any Drum software may not suit and mixing and matching is cool. Also it can take ages to get certain sounds they we like and of course everyone's tastes are different :)

Just a thought. Have you tried Stillwell's Rocket on JS? For example, the following presets work well on a snare: Drums Snare Smack 1 Drums Snare Smack 2 Harder Also, something like ReaGate might tighten things up further. Pete
