We need new front tyres, original Continentals are now only just legal at 19000 miles. Would appreciate any advice on a decent reasonably priced brand as I know nothing about tyres! Most driving is on-road, but we do pull a large caravan so need to be able to get decent grip in the occasional muddy field. I have read the threads here on tyres, the Nokian WRs sound good, but I have not found a stockist. Does anyone know where to get them (Glasgow area), or which brands would be good alternatives? Tyre size is 235/60 R18 , there seems to be less choice in this size.

Has partner fitting stations in Glasgow. You can order and pre pay for fitting on-line. Never used Mytyers myself yet, but I have been looking at Nokian Z G2 myself, so would give them a try if I settled on Nokians.

Nokian don't make the WR's anymore. They do a new version that no one has post wear info on yet. You've probably read my comments on the Vredstiens. Camskill are probably the best place to buy them if you're interested. Roy

Thanks, will take a look at those. Are Camskill supply only? What about fitting? Not yet used to buying tyres on-line!

thanks for the info! a couple of questions........the rear tyres still have 4-5mm tread, are we ok to just replace the 2 worn ones meantime, and if so, should we move the Contis to the front and put the new ones on the rear? as the wear on the front has been a lot more than on the rear, and we have been stuck in mud a couple of times (not while towing) , should be be worried that the AWD is not actually working properly?

Thank you, that is pretty much what I was thinking. The front tyres are only just legal, hence the need to replace them immediately. We have not done a lot of mileage over the winter , so it is likely the tryes were already too worn to be of much use in the mud! New ones all round it is then!
