I dunno if this is really the right place to post this, but I tried playing back an Mpeg2 file (in mpeg container, PAL SVCD res) using just ffdshow (no other Mpeg2 codecs or software DVD players installed - fresh windows install) and I get a "could not render file" error in mplayer2 and then garbled playback (just random blocks - cannot make out picture). The file works fine in PowerDVD now that I've installed it so it's not just a broken file. Has anyone managed to get ffdshow to decode Mpeg2 correctly using Libmpeg2?

I believe MPEG 1/2 is still under development for ffdshow. It might be imrpoved if you're using the latest alpha of ffdshow... . Haven't tried, I just use PowerDVD for MPEG2.
