When I create a new track using VirtuaDrum a track named "AM VirtuaDrum" is created. Also created are 8 virtual tracks ("vir 1,3,5,7,9,11,13 & 15"). How do these virtual tracks interact with the real(?) VirtuaDrum track? The "real" track has VirtuaDrum assigned as an FX. None of the "virtual" tracks have an FX assigned. I don't understand the structure created. I asked Thomas at AMVST but he seemed unsure what was going on also. Any advice appreciated.

If you look at the VirtuaDrum track (click its [io] button) you will see that is has been made multi-channel and the channel pairs are automatically routed to those other tracks. So all the audio will be sent to those tracks. [PS They are not virtual but have been named according to the output info supplied by VirtuaDrum.] This is done so you can apply different FX (EQ, compressor, whatever) to each of VirtuaDrum's audio output. There's one more thing to do though: open VirtuaDrum and route the drums to its different outputs. I don't have that VSTi but here is the same thing using SampleTank2: Big pic: The audio path is: -- from each ST2 Instrument >> an ST2 Output (selected in the ST2 GUI) -- from each ST2 Output >> a Reaper track channel pair (automatically mapped, click the "Out" button just above the VSTi in the FX window) -- from each Reaper track channel pair to a generated track (click the [io] button on the track) HTH

Thanks. Can't get Virtuadrum and all the channel routing to work yet. Too complex for me I feel. However I got GTG Synth Drums to work; A much simpler way for me to create a beat. Is there a way I can click on the GTG virtual drum pad rather than Reaper's piano keyboard MIDI GUI to put the beats in place?
