Someone Broke My Headlight Wiper Arm Off

:angry2: i took it to a mechanic for a quote and he said to take it to a dealership. they couldn't get the part (or something like that). i'm pretty sure that my friend would be able to fix it if i had the part. with that said, i have a couple options... buy a new part and have my friend replace it, do nothing about it and leave the hose hanging off my bumper like a retard, or have my friend remove both of them (they're kinda lame/useless anyways). if i were to have them removed, is there a cost-effective way to cover up the big black holes where the wipers used to be on the bumper? i'm guessing no, but i thought i'd ask. advice?

Hi, Welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay here.. :) Sorry to hear of your problem... The motor is attached to the bottom of the headlamp unit. Held on with bolts. A couple of possibilities for you could be: Repair the arm/blade by replacing with a second hand one from a breakers. Or new... Once replaced - it works. Or you can disconnect the power from the motor once the arms are positioned correctly. Won't stop some oik doing the same again.. REmove completely as you think - with those holes. It may be that you can get rubber grommets to fill the hole - I remember seeing another Volvo where this was done. I don't know whether they are available vial Volvo.. Fill the hole using a body repair kit and paint.. Des. . . ;)
