Hi Sabe... You must realize, you're talking to a dreamer who just got his wish...
Oh man, I love it. It is simply a fine guitar, and I think any guitarist would agree. Not a reissue, not a 'Stevie Ray' edition, but just a normal, straight ahead American-made Strat. But so help me, this one has that touch of 'magic' in it. It sounds so good, you can plug straight into your amp, with nothing else, and it sounds killer. I put new DR strings on it last night (.010's), so the low strings have that 'ting' to em, and oh, man...
I probably wouldn't care what color it is, since it plays and sounds so good, but it looks so fine, too. It's a 'honey blonde' color, with a maple neck. I had gone to 4 music stores here and played every Strat they had on the floor. But when I picked this one up and played it, I said, 'This is the one...' What's amazing, is how my wife learned about it, because she wasn't even there. A guy walked up while I was playing and said, 'I knew that had to be Roy Howell, because I heard that slide.' Well, that guy was the guitar salesman's roomate, so the salesman took me back into the little room where he teaches, and brought me every decent guitar in the store, one by one. But, I kept going back to the blonde Strat. I had to say, 'Well, let me think about it' before leaving. And I thought that was it, because then we decided we couldn't afford it. But, now it's in my lap...
Hey, sorry for rambling about it, but it's just a rare, cool thing for me. Here's a couple of pics of it (along with my girl, Anna, who is the middle girl in the photos.).
