I'm converting Divx to SVCD an I want to mux-in subtitles from a MicroDVD format subtitle file. I'm using TMPGEnc to do the convertion from Divx to SVCD. So, I only have textfile subtitles (MicroDVD/SubRip). And I don't want the subtitles burned into the videostream (I want to be able to turn them off). I was thinking about converting the text subtitles to bmp subtitles and then adding them... I hope somebody can help me. Thanks a lot.

First convert your .srt to .ssa using subadjust, then use MaestroSBT to render your script and the BMPs. I have never done this (just about to try it myself), but it should work.

thanks, but I just found out that my player doesn't play selectable subtitles for svcd, although vcdhelp.com said that it could.

As you probably know, there are two different types of selectable subs - CVD and SVCD. Have you tried both types on your player?
