I have been recording songs with no problems till now. When I sing normal, the level sound is hot and clear. When I go into a chorus pushing the vocal louder, it sounds like the vocal is muted. Is there something I am missing? any help would be nice. Thanks, platinumx99

i beleive the 001 has a limiter built in that cuts everything over a certain db, if it didn't have it you would get digital distortion which is the worst sound imaginable! Try backing off the trim on the mic and recording the parts seperately, or using a compressor to control some of the dynamics I just recorded a screamer, I had no choice but to compress to tape. OHMYGAWD! Keny

Sorry to pop th' bubble, but the only limiters on the 001 are via plug-in. There IS a 25 dB pad switch but it is, of course, a manual one. There are no hardware limiters included in the system. Tell us more about this condenser mic... Brand, model, Power supply or phantom, what channel are you plugging it into in the break-out box?

PT has what's called softclip on every channel, and yes it kinda limits the signal at 0db to prevent mild clips.
