Thanks kelldammit. That's certainly a useful plugin, and it's now in my library :D Still, it doesn't quite give that 3d control I was after. Heck I'd settle for 2d as long as you could move infront/behind the speakers. Thanks for your help, Jamie

you're welcome. i doublechecked my samp manual, and 2 channel surround is indeed LCRS (i.e. pro logic). i found a link to an lcrs encoder plugin: i can't seem to find a decoder plug, though. it's possible (the details aren't clear from the manual), that samp is only encoding, and there's no decode on their 2 channel surround bus. perhaps the encoder and a surround panning plugin such as this one would get you where you need to go? it's at least worth a shot, and both are free. put the lcrs plug on your master bus, and make sure you set up 6 inputs for it (click the 2 in/6 out, and just add the necessary input pairs). insert the panner on each channel as required, and set the number of channel outputs to 6 in IO. that should do the trick...it at least works, but i haven't used 2 channel surround in quite some time, so i'm not sure it will sound the same as you're used to... k

Thanks I'll try and give that a go. Seems a bit long winded for a relatively simple task though. Oh well, we'll see. Thanks again for all your help. Jamie

you're welcome. it seems long-winded, but in practice, it's pretty simple. although reaper can support surround, the implementation isn't integrated end to end as it is in samp, nuendo, dp, logic, etc, so some "working around" is in order :) either way, let me know how it works out! k
