I only use freeze for virtual instruments anyway, so 'Render item as new take' does it for me. But I did make a hot-key for it. Not for unfreezing though, as I very rarely need to. Maybe it can be made to toggle? Haven't looked into it...
"I'd prefer one continuous audio file instead of multiple, with gaps." Glue is the thing for you Carbon * Select all of the Items you wish were one continuous Item * Right click on one of them * Choose "Glue Selected Items" from the menu
Don't know, I've not dug into the .rpp file and looked at what Glue does behind the scenes (yet) On screen it appears to create a single Item out of many - and just cleaning up the way it looks on screen is usually enough for me. If you want to go further you could then render that track to a stem file, that would give you the single audio file. Am I answering the question you're asking?

The problem with pseudo-freeze in Reaper is that you either get an additional track (stem rendering) or you get problems with the tails (apply FX as take). The Freeze pack that was floating around here at some point was going in the right direction, though. However, it lacked a proper visual feedback of what is frozen and what not (well, getting rid of my personal track colour is not a proper visual feedback for me, since it introduces other problems). So, yeah, a proper freeze would be much appreciated! Regards, fladd
My question is: how can I freeze, for example, EZdrummer when I have it in multitrack mode? Meaning, I wouldn't get one stereo track, but one stereo track FOR EACH PLUGIN MULTIOUT. Meaning, I select the source MIDI, and I get the track multiouts rendered...
