I've just acquired a 2004 2.0 SE D and I've noticed when starting the engine that the 'PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF' warning appears (above the rear view mirror) for approx 5 seconds and then goes out. I naturally thought the Airbag may have been disabled but when I checked the key adjuster at the passenger end of the dashboard it is clearly in the 'ON' position. Just to test things I turned it 'OFF' and restarted the engine. This time the warning appears permanantly, which is understandable. Can anyone please confirm if this is normal and that it's just to demontrate the warning light is working, even though the Airbag is switched on? Thanks

Mines the same on my 09 V50. I checked the adjustor and did the same as you. It must just be a system check.
