Hi All, I'm about to embark on a large animated feature and my first job will be to organize all the dialogue and match the best takes to picture. I would love to be able to do the work at home and not have to spend 15 hours a day in the studio. I am a PT 7 TDM user so I've never worked on LE. Basically I'm thinking of buying a new Mac Laptop and doing all the work at home. Any of you guys ever work like this? What do you recommend? I would like to do all the dialogue editing on my laptop then import the session onto my TDM rig. I will not be recording on the laptop just using it for playback and editing. All the post work will be done in the studio. What is the most basic set up I will need to do it. Thanks in advance Mitch

Thanks, I've actually been a Peak user since V. 2.0. Is my age showing? I should have been more specific. I need to work in a multi-track session. I'll take my edited dialogue and place it in the timeline with a QT movie. All my sweetening and mixing will be done in HD. This simply is to line the stuff up. I remember with PT free you could use just your Mac CPU and a set of headphones. That's really what I want. I just want to be able to bring a bit of the work load home and maybe see my kids a bit before my 11 year old son grows a beard and my girls begin dating! They're 4 and 8!. Best, Mitch

Almost forgot, my laptop is a lowly 1GHZ Powerbook, so any of the new machines should ROCK!

Hello. Well there you go. I suppose that's like the TDM to LE SMPTE 'bug'. Good to know, thank you.
