Ok, I checked and searched whatever archives are here and didn't find an answer. PT 001, Motu MTPA/V, PC w/ WAMI rack running Acid Pro 2.0. There are other keydoards involved but my questions are... Can't 001 control Acid (w/regards to tempo and location and start time) like any other piece of MIDI gear therefore turing it into a glorified sampler that is usable within PT001 sessions? Can 001 send patch, tempo and sync info via MIDI to any piece of MIDI gear? Can't 001 remember those patches? I'm and acknowleged Midiot, always left that to the keyboard players (moo, moo... my bad.). I've been told that MIDI can send patch, tempo and location information("tape position") and even be automated for the tasks and all of that is recallable from memory. Is the LE software up to this? Is any sequencer/editor software up to this? Does anyone out there actually have a set-up that is reminiscant of what I described? I've heard of "guys" that have "everything talking to everything else and it's soooooo cool!" Have I been lied to? Is Santa not really coming? Feel free to e-mail me. Bob

Bob The answer is yes it does work. I've got Digi001/Pt Le/Mac generating and chasing midi with MTC..........P111 PC/acid Pro. BUT! There's a problem with sync to correct time, that I'm trying to sought out, approx .150 of a second. I think it might be a problem in Acid. Nick

Nick, I noticed that when I import/record a dedicated bpm Acid loop into pro tools that the tempos are not matching. I usually see discrepencies of less than 1 bpm. I assumed it was the editing choices in the original loop or the time base / crystal of the Acid or PT set-up. I'm gonna spend the day trying to get it to work. Shoulda paid attention to those keyboardist rigs. Bob

Bob What sound card (audio/midi sound card) are you using on your PC. I've got Mixtreme for audio and Midiman PCI for the midi application. I've just received the SPDIF adaptor for the Mixtreme so I can time sync through SPDIF. It supose to be more accurate. I did notice if you lower buffer in Acid playback helps. Also try using PT Free to configer the MTC with both machines. That is what i'm trying now. Maybe the problem is not Acid Nick

AEW, I'm using a WAMI Pack that has a MIDI distro thingy in it. I don't think Acid is the problem I just want it to chase and interact (tempo info, etc...) like every other midi instrument does. If it doesn't, I'll live to try some other thing. B
