Hey guys, I stumbled on here after finding the HUI docs. I have a lot of communication already working with my application, but there is one thing to solve. I have a high res rotary encoder I want to use for fader and knob control on protools. But, when you select a channel, there is no way for my rotary to know what level to be at so the fader just slams to off when I touch the rotary. I am assuming that the HUI would be able to have it's motorized faders track the faders on Protools, so there must be some data that can stream back for fader status. I haven't messed with RX yet, only TX. Can anyone tell me if I should be able to get the fader value back, then I can update my encoder value constantly and when I touch the rotary knob( touch sensitive) it will automatically be whatever the fader value is. Thanks

Hi TChapman, welcome on this forum! :) First off, have you already asked this at ProTools' forum and/or tech support? (Because, you know, this is *not* a ProTools forum.) Second: if you want to reverse engineer how PT sends 'feedback' to remote controllers, it seems to me that you really *should* start using RX - select a track, move a 'fader' in PT, watch what data it sends out, try to spot a pattern. Hope this helps!

Thanks Banned. I just this minute got done putting in some code to display any RX data and for sure you can see everything and grab what you want. I want to do the same thing for logic, live etc and others but am starting with Protools. You guys are doing some cool stuff on here.
