Moliere just helped me out, immensely, regarding a couple of questions that I had. My aim was to wait until later on, today, to try a short piece of music while being armed with he info he provided. But 'waiting' is something that I just couldn't do. I was TOO excited and anxious. Anyway, I just gave it a shot - and I am ecstatic over the fact that I have some degree of a handle on (at least) that part of my concern. However (and I promise not to come back here with any more questions, for a GOOD while :)), I have just one more thing to ask about. Attached, is a shot of this window which jumps up when I call Sampletank into play. Clicking 'Yes' in that box loads a setup in Reaper which confuses me. I can lay a track down, but there is no responsiveness on any track after this first one. Now, if I had clicked on "No' in that window, I would be able to make some ground. But I am sure that the way I am doing it is akin to a 'back door' approach. Allow me to explain: In that second scenario I call up an instance of Sampletank for track 1. I record on that track and then render it as a new take. Following that, I close out that instance of Sampletank, and open up another for track 2. If I don't do it in that manner, then I wouldn't b e able to get anything to sound when that 2nd track is activated. Yes...I just KNOW that I am doing this thing in a round-a-bout manner, but forgive this MIDI fledgling. The thing is that I am one of the members of a singing group, that has a show coming up on the 5th of November. We're doing covers, but the other members have asked if I would write an original for us to also do. I am nowhere even near being THAT good of a keyboardist, to just sit down at the piano and instruct them in that design. The magic of sequencing affords me the opportunity to lay everything down - music and all vocals, which would enable me to present to them a fully laid out musical & vocal blueprint of what I had in my head. And that is why I am so energetic about getting myself into a working understanding about this thing - and with the quickness :).
