2.3 NA B230F 122bhp, may be mistaken but its around this figure. 2.3 16v B234F 155bhp 2.3 LPT B230FK 135bhp 2.3 HPT B230FT 160-170bhp depending upon year. The B230FT is identical to B230FK except for boost pressure - a fit manual boost controller to either the B230FK or B230FT and you can easily and reliably get 200bhp. Don't discount a 2.0 turbo car - this has the same engine, turbo, camshaft as the B230FT - the only difference is in the bore. Power output 155bhp, although again 180-200bhp is easy via a manual boost controller. Don't touch a 2.0 non turbo car - its way under powered (111bhp) for the weight of the car, so the engine has to be thrashed to make decent progress. The 2.3 non turbo is just about adequate, but is still very... sedate :) Economy is pretty similar - the 2.0T being marginally more economical than the 2.3NA or 2.3T in everyday driving. If you do decide to increase the turbo boost, be prepared for a significant drop in economy - when I tuned my 2.3LPT auto to just over 200bhp my economy dropped to an 18mpg average... Finally, if you're buying a manual gearbox car, the 1996 onwards cars were fitted with the M90 5 speed gearbox - this is a lovely, smooth gearbox. The earlier manual box was the M46 4 speed plus overdrive - ok but a bit clunky in comparison. The autos are all equally good and equally reliable. Hope this helps :)
